Alfa Romeo Sprint GT & GTV. (1963 to 1977) The Alfa Romeo Sprint GT & GTV were a series of sports coupes first introduced in 1963. Originally introduced as the Giulia Sprint GT, these models eventually became known as GTV, which was short for GT Veloce. These cars were fitted with a range of inline four engines, including 1.7L and 2.0L versions.. The Italian ‘scalino’ sounds so much better! Giugiaro designed the svelte body and Alfa Romeo then created a shortened version of the Giulia saloon platform. Under the bonnet sat an Alfa Twin Cam engine, an all-alloy unit with double overhead cams, a cross-flow head and two valves per cylinder. In 1965 the Sprint GT Veloce was introduced.
